Our company is seeking a (Senior) Rig Supervisor II to join our team and play a crucial role in the safe and efficient execution of well plans. This full-time position is available in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, and Rivers, offering a competitive salary range of ₦750,000 – ₦1,000,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Rig Supervisor

As a Senior Rig Supervisor, you will represent the company on the rig site, ensuring the seamless execution of well plans. Your role will be pivotal in coordinating logistics for personnel, equipment, and services, acting as the primary contact for rig and third-party personnel.

Ensuring Safety and Compliance

One of your main responsibilities will be to communicate and enforce safety, security, health, and environmental expectations. You will provide guidance and support in managing Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) events. Additionally, you will communicate the Operations Integrity Management Systems (OIMS) expectations to ensure compliance and operational integrity on the rig site.

Monitoring and Managing Rig Operations

Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring rig operations, providing feedback, and ensuring well control procedures are followed. You will play a key role in managing emergency situations and ensuring that safety and operational drills are conducted regularly.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Safety and Environment Management: Ensure that all safety, health, and environmental protocols are strictly followed. Manage SSHE events and provide continuous guidance to maintain a safe working environment.
2. Operations Integrity: Enforce the Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) on the rig site, ensuring all procedures and protocols are adhered to without deviation.
3. Rig Operations Monitoring: Oversee rig operations, provide critical feedback, and ensure proper well control procedures. Manage emergency situations effectively.
4. Drill Management: Conduct and supervise safety, operational, environmental, and security drills at specified frequencies to ensure readiness and compliance.

1. Logistics Coordination: Organize and manage logistics for necessary services and equipment, ensuring efficient drilling and completion operations.
2. Surveillance Support: Support onsite surveillance in areas like kick detection, abnormal pressure detection, torque and drag, mud properties, and solids control efficiency.
3. Reporting and Documentation: Generate accurate and comprehensive operations reports. Ensure all documentation meets industry and company standards.
4. Interfacing with Engineering and Geology: Collaborate with engineering and geology teams to understand well objectives and procedural requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 8 years of industry experience in rig supervisory or leadership roles, specifically in drilling and completion operations.
• At least 10 years of experience working with a major Operator or Drilling Contractor.
• Current certification in Well Control is mandatory.
• This position requires 10 to 20 years of related experience, emphasizing previous roles with major operators or drilling contractors.
